Volkswagen LEGO Journey Display Shown at Chicago Auto Show
As part of its display at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show in February, Volkswagen assembled a 20,000-piece LEGO journey display that demonstrated the evolution of Volkswagen design throughout the years in honor of the 2018 VW Atlas, the brand’s all-new full-size SUV.
The display featured both the new Atlas and the classic VW Microbus, showing the similarities and differences in design over the multi-decade gap. The display was set against a backdrop of a city setting, which transitioned to the great outdoors to show the versatility and “go-anywhere spirit” of the Volkswagen brand.
The LEGO Atlas model was made of white LEGO bricks and features front and rear Volkswagen badging as well as black rims, roof rails, a trailer hitch, and a distinctive grille. What’s more, the model also highlights the utility of the Atlas’ seven-passenger seating.
The Microbus was lovingly crafted from blue and white LEGOs to accurately reflect the real thing, including its two-tone exterior, the V-shaped front fascia design, rounded headlamps, a curved bumper, and VW badging.
If you’re interested in the new Atlas SUV, it hits dealerships later this year, so keep an eye out or give us a call at Grosett VW Porsche and ask us to keep you updated!
