The Porsche 911 series is about to grow by one. The premium performance-oriented carmaker is expanding its eight-generation range with the new 911 Carrera Coupe and 911 Carrera Cabriolet models.
These new models will act as the entry-level 911 option, offering more power output than its predecessor and a sportier feel. While these new models look similar to the outgoing model, they have received a number of updates.
The Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet models come with premium-quality standard features like a 10.9-inch touchscreen display, connectivity for your smartphone, and innovative systems like Porsche Wet Mode, which helps you take on rain easier. They also boast a range of tasteful materials and have the option of three sound systems — the standard Sound System Plus, a 12-speaker Bose® Surround Sound System, or a Burmester® Surround Sound System.
The Cabriolet model’s top can retract at up to 31 mph, taking about 12 seconds to do so.
Along with these features, the Carrera will also boast a sportier feel. Its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine will help this sportscar get up to 420 horsepower, depending on the model you choose. This engine comes paired to a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, giving the Carrera a top speed of 190 mph and a 0-60 mph time as fast as four seconds.
