Porsche is commemorating the 25th anniversary of the iconic Boxster with a new 718 model. This eye-catching new special edition, called the Boxster 25 Years, sports a whole swath of callbacks to the prototype that debuted at the 1993 Detroit Auto Show.
Built upon the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0, the Boxster 25 Years dons the same silver metallic paint found on its vintage counterpart, but you can also opt for a black or white exterior. In addition to sporting exclusive badges, this special edition offers retro-inspired styling touches like brushed aluminum interior trim, red interior upholstery, and 20-inch five-spoke wheels.
The Boxster 25 Years delivers 394 horsepower courtesy of its 4.0-liter flat-six engine. This dynamo pairs with your choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. When upgraded with the Sport Chrono package, this luxury sports car can achieve a top speed of 182 mph — and rocket from 0-60 mph in a mere 3.8 seconds.
But if you want to nab one of these historic special editions, you have to act fast — Porsche will only produce 1,250 of these exclusive models worldwide. The Boxster 25 Years starts at $106,500. If you want to get behind the wheel of an exotic luxury sports car, treat yourself to a test drive of the Boxster at Gossett Porsche in Memphis, Tennessee.
